Case studies

Following an unsatisfactory experience with a former service provider, our client asked us to take over all of their translation needs for the company’s various departments, covering the medical, marketing, legal and HR fields.

Our team quickly noticed an issue with the linguistic consistency between the different content. They suggested building a termbase so that the company could benefit from a clearly identified framework for all of its communications and future translations.

The client wanted to share the results and performance of a test to detect key cancer biomarkers from a tumour tissue sample by carrying out complete genomic profiling of the sample using DNA/RNA sequencing in order to identify potential genetic alterations. They needed cross-cutting support to translate sales literature and the conference presenting the results. The commercial stakes were high, and a high level of quality and precision was expected across the project.

The linguists working on the project are specialists in medical biology and ensured that the terminology was strictly adhered to in order to guarantee accuracy. For the subtitling, character limits per frame were managed through accurate and concise rephrasing by linguists who are well versed in the requirements of this medium.

The patent application was a strategic investment for our client. The process involves many procedures, and the translation had to be perfectly adapted to the required format, particularly through the use of precise phrasing and language. Particular attention had to be paid to the descriptions in the diagrams and plans.

Our team monitored procedures specific to the sector. The formal framework was analysed in detail, and the translation was entrusted to a specialised linguist. “Back and forth” proofreading steps were offered to ensure optimal quality.

As part of a practical training course for nurses using mannequins, our client asked us to translate a manual, as well as online assessment materials that can be compiled on a software interface.

In terms of language, our team used the required level of language and confirmed the desired tone for the project. For the interface, the writing focused on the user experience so that the translations correctly matched the displayed or displayable elements (menus, buttons, message windows, etc.).

As part of its marketing strategy, our client regularly publishes content with varying word counts (blog posts, social media posts and landing pages). They therefore need a responsive partner who is able to retain the tone and spirit of the posts in the target language.

Our team studied the terminology used in the source documents in detail and created a termbase for the target language. The project involves transcreation work that requires linguists to take a step back from the source text in order to properly convey the spirit of the original text. To meet deadlines, we have a pool of dedicated translators who are able to get the job done in a timely manner.

Our client wished to develop their business in the German and US markets. It therefore needed to have its website translated into these two languages.

Localisation goes beyond simple translation. It encompasses cultural aspects and the adaptation of elements as varied as units of measurement, currencies, screenshots, date formats, URLs and much more. We therefore offered our client a service taking all these factors into account. The translations of extracted HTML pages are delivered in the same format for immediate integration.

Note: our translation software can handle several web development languages.
